The Grate Summer Movie Contest
I love movies. So I thought that I would have a little contest. I'm going to pick five movies that are being released this summer (that I just happen to be planning on seeing). Your job will be to pick the total sum of each film's domestic opening weekend. Here are your five films:
The Da Vinci Code (releasing 05/19)I will use the weekend numbers from Variety for reference. The person who guesses closest to the actual sum (regardless of whether their guess is more or less than the actual sum) is the winner. The winner will receive a nice prize (probably a gift card or something). Only one entry per person. Void where prohibited. Restrictions may apply. No purchase necessary. You must make your guess by 5:00 pm on Friday, 05/19/06.
X3: The Last Stand (releasing 05/26)
Superman Returns (releasing 06/30)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (releasing 07/07)
Lady in the Water (releasing 07/21/06)

First, I am most excited about X#. The only one I plan to skip is Superman,
The Da Vinci Code - $84,000,000
X3: The Last Stand - $46,000,000 (unfortunately diminished by DC being out only a week)
Superman Returns - $42,000,000
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $69,000,000 (only in the 40s for the first, but this will be different.

Forgot Lady in the Water = $28,000,000
Already I know I'm wrong on X3 - it's going to haul in way more than the total I predicted. new total $71 (BTW, with Bryan Singer at the helm I'd have gone much higher originally)
