verses of the day

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. I Timothy 1.15
HOWEVER...
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2.8-10

End of the World Photos

If you fancy wildlife, take a peek at some photos from a new book being put out by National Geographic. I don't remember the name of the book or the photographer, but you can see some of the great pictures here.

Free Opera

Hey everyone! It's National Opera Week (which actually runs 11/13 - 11/22) this week. Check out some free opera opportunities here.

If I get a dog, I think I'll name him Barkley

Over the past couple of months, I've been listening to what I consider to be a great sermon series. Frontline has just wrapped up an eight-week series called "Vintage Truths." The series talks about the life of Samson and what we can learn from his life. I can honestly say that beyond the whole Samson and Delilah bit, I was pretty unfamiliar with Samson's life. This series got me interested enough to actually read through the four or five chapters devoted to him in the Old Testament (I think in the book of Judges).

I would definitely recommend giving it a listen. You can find the messages (both audio and video) archived here.

13 Things

The following things have occurred since last I posted:
I saw the Pacific Ocean.
I saw Anthony Edwards and have a blurry picture to prove it.
I walked across the Missouri River.
I had avocodo for the first time on a sandwich.
The Redskins did not win a game.
I ate some Tex-Mex.
Mark Sanchez ate a hot dog.
I ate some chocolate covered bacon.
I saw a comedy show.
I watched an episode of "Chips."
An American male won the New York Marathon for the first time since 1982.
And I watched it on TV.
I realized that I have a grudge against Brett Favre that I need to let go off.
